Here's a super short list of the very important words we throw around a lot:
When we say "nail", we're technically talking about your nail plate, and this usually includes the tip. Underneath your nail plate is your nail bed.
The "tip" is the part of your nail that extends beyond the tip of your finger.
Your "cuticle" is the protective connective tissue between your nail and skin. It outlines your nail plate to create a little border. It's different than your skin, and needs special attention to stay healthy and supple.
