Our Gel Polish was formulated without HEMA (Hydroxyethyl Methacrylate), an adhesion promoter frequently used in gel nail polishes to help them last longer. We wanted a HEMA-free formula because this ingredient is a commonly known allergen and is responsible for triggering reactions in many users.
One of the challenges of developing our formula was finding a safe alternative to HEMA that would provide a healthy, long-lasting manicure. After years of testing we have created a HEMA-free, 15-free, cruelty-free and vegan formula that is the longest-lasting Gel polish on the market.
I see bis-HEMA on the ingredient list. How are you HEMA-free if you have bis-HEMA?
Our gel polish uses Bis-HEMA Polyneopentyl Glycol Adipate, not HEMA (Hydroxyethyl methacrylate). Bis-HEMA Polyneopentyl Glycol Adipate and HEMA are two different chemicals. The monomer we formulate with is a much larger molecule than HEMA. Its larger molecular structure makes it unlikely to cause allergic reactions such as contact dermatitis because larger molecules cannot penetrate the skin
