Polish is always pretty, but prep is the most important step to a manicure that looks salon perfect and really lasts.
The most important part of mani prep is that your hands stay dry. Waterless manicures are the key to long-lasting manicures.
After shaping your nails, remove old polish. Gently push back cuticles with your thumbnail or cuticle pusher, and buff away that dead skin that collects with a buffer. Clip any dead skin that’s hanging.
Dip each nail again in the remover pot to remove any nail dust or lingering oil.
Remember: don’t wash your hands! It can be tempting when your nails are dusty to reach for soap and water. This will make your mani chip way earlier, so just stick with a dip in the remover pot.
Choose Nail Primer or Nail Strengthener if desired based on your nail’s needs.
You’re ready to paint!
