This thing is super easy to use and very convenient. When I first tried it, I thought it was perfect and that I would definitely repurchase it. A few months in, I still love the concept but am noticing the cons of this remover pot. You should not use this pot for really pigmented polishes or anything glittery. I made the mistake of doing both. I used it for a glittery polish and it destroyed the sponge inside. Ever after, I would get tiny specks of sponge on my fingers after using it. But using it for a highly pigmented polish was even worse. I used it to remove a bright red polish. Afterwards, every time I used it, I would get its reddish residue on the tips of every finger and it would stain my cuticles. There's no way to fix this since now that the color is embedded into the sponge. My recommendation is, if you want to buy this, only use it for light or nude colors and nothing glittery.
Loved the product initially until I used E + M. Now every time I remove any polish my fingers are stained black. I can’t even use the brush to clean up because that too stains black. Don’t think having two pots is the solution. Looks like I’ll be going back to the good old cotton ball.
Hi Lina! I'm so sorry to hear that your E+M caused the remover pot to stain your fingers. If you are not wanting to have separate pots for light and dark, for the dark/ bright shades we recommend pressing a cotton ball onto the top of the pot to absorb remover instead of dipping your nails. We're here to help if you need anything else at all!
This works great to remove polish quickly, but after removing a dark color, the residue stays in the sponge and turns my fingers purple anytime I use it. I saw responses to other reviewers recommending having two pots, but that means having $20 worth of nail polish remover on hand at any point, and somewhat defeats the claimed ease of use.
Hi Lauren! I'm so sorry to hear that you have experienced staining from the remover pot. If you are not wanting to have separate pots for light and dark, for the dark/ bright shades we recommend pressing a cotton ball onto the top of the pot to absorb remover instead of dipping your nails. The first time I used this was to take off a super dark polish (E+M), and now my fingers are stained a dark purple if I try to use it. I thought the idea was that you'd be able to touch up one finger if you need to... but then now it will be purple? I think I ruined it from the start : /
Hi Christie! Thank you for your recent review! I'm so sorry to hear that you have experienced staining from your dark polish removal. Some people find they prefer having one Remover Pot for lights, and one for brights/ darks. We're hear to help if you need anything at all!
I love this product for removing polish, but beware- if you use it to remove dark colors they will cling to the sponge! I removed SC (dark red) and besties (dark green) in 2 different pots, and now when I use them to remove other polishes they stain my entire finger tips red and green! ☹️ Now I can’t use those pots anymore for that final swipe of remover before painting since they taint my clean surface. Wish I had known beforehand. Also, glitter polishes like cosmic tear up the sponge inside so little bits come off on your nails, so I would stick to a cotton ball for polishes with a texture.
Hi Lydia! Thanks you for your review! Stains from Nail Polish Remover Pot happens sometimes with dark shades and we recommend getting 2 remover pots - 1 for dipping your nails in before painting (and the light colored polish removal) the other for the dark polish shades. We're here to help if you need anything at all!
All products I have gotten from O&J have been superior. The mani polish removal pot is so easy to use and works so well without drying out my nails.
It’s okay, feel like that foam insert is going to fall apart pretty quickly.
Hi Lisa! The Polish Remover foam is made to last for 2-3 months with regular use. Olive You!
I have loved the effectiveness of this nail polish remover however I have used it all of 4 times and now every time I go back to use it it stains my whole finger a dark grey color. I have to use a different remover to get ride of the stains on my fingers. Unimpressed with how little it lasted.
Not big enuf and it also damaged my nails!
Hi Pat! Thank you for your review. I'm so sorry to hear that the Remover Pot was not a good match for you. I see that our Bestie team has been in touch to assist you. We're here if you need anything else at all!
This makes removing nail polish sooooo easy! So much faster and less messy than using cotton balls and nail remover.
